The more I learn about Satanism, the less horrendous it seems. Not even kidding.

That’s cause non-theistic Satanism is more about worshipping yourself and sorta treating others how you want to be treated etc

hail satan

satanism is actually really solid like the Fifth Satanic Rule of the Earth says not to make sexual advances unless you are given consent

satan seems like a pretty nice guy

This week on “I didn’t know I was a Satanist”

Wait till you hear the Nine Satanic Sins

1. Stupidity

2. Pretentiousness

3. Solipsism

4. Self-deceit

5. Herd conformity

6. Lack of perspective

7. Forgetfulness of past orthodoxies

8. Counterproductive pride

9. Lack of aesthetics

That’s right. If you ain’t got no style, you be sinning.

i’m 3 seconds away from becoming a Satanist whoops

LaVeyan Satanism
The most well known branch of Satanism is the form created by Anton LaVey in the 1960s. He created the Satanic Bible, which remains the most available text on Satanic religion. He also formed the Church of Satan, which is by far the most well known and most public Satanic organization.

LaVeyan Satanism is atheistic. According to LaVey, neither God not Satan are actual beings. Instead, Satan is a symbol representing the qualities embraced by Satanists. Invoking the name of Satan and other infernal names is a practical tool in Satanic ritual, focusing one’s focus and will upon certain concepts.

The only “god” in LaVeyan Satanism is the Satanist himself. Satanism is a celebration of the self. It encourages people to seek their own truths, indulge in desires without fear of societal taboos, and perfect the self.

Theistic Satanism
Theistic Satanism, also known as Spiritual Satanism, recognizes the existence of supernatural beings. Oftentimes this being is called Satan, but sometimes other names are used. The Temple of Set is one of the most well known groups of theistic Satanists, although they no longer identify themselves as Satanic, seeing their movement as something new and distinct.

Regardless of the being or beings in charge, none of them resemble the Christian Satan. Instead, they are beings that represent the same general qualities as the atheistic Satanists associate with their symbolic Satan: sexuality, pleasure, strength, rebellion, etc.

Many see Luciferianism as another branch of Satanism (and generally a theistic branch, although there are some who see Lucifer as symbolic rather than an actual being). However, Luciferians see themselves as a separate religion.

Luciferians use the term “Lucifer” in its literal sense: “lightbringer” in Latin. Rather than being a figure of challenge, rebellion, and sensuality, Lucifer is a creature of enlightenment, the one who brings light out of the darkness.

He does not, however, present his gifts to everyone. Luciferians embrace the seeking of knowledge, delving into the darkness of mystery and coming out better for it.

Luciferians also stress the balance of light and dark and that each depends upon the other. Park of that light and dark pairing is spirituality and physicality. While Satanists revel in physical existence, and Christianity focuses more and spirituality, Luciferianism is a religion that seeks a balance of both, recognizing that human existence is an intersection of the two.

I am the God © Adrianwoolf

I am the God.

The God lives inside my mere body, breaths the air I breath and feels the pain I feel.

If I commit a sin, then the sin I’ve committed was the product of an action taken by the God. It is a way for my God to teach me the lesson I didn’t know before, the lesson that was necessary for me to understand the world I’m living and feel the shaky path I’m walking.

When I’ll die, by the hand of luck or by the hand of time, then the God dies with me.

Remember that post that went around about Satanism being a “solid religion”? I found the specific sub-religion that was mentioned in said post, the one containing values/moral beliefs such as “do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.”

It’s called LaVeyan Satanism and, like any religion, it has some bad shit, but it also has some really good shit.

The following is a - from chuchofsatan.com which I found on the Wikipedia page;

"Satanists do not believe in the supernatural, in neither God nor the Devil. To the Satanist, he is his own God. Satan is a symbol of Man living as his prideful, carnal nature dictates. The reality behind Satan is simply the dark evolutionary force of entropy that permeates all of nature and provides the drive for survival and propagation inherent in all living things. Satan is not a conscious entity to be worshiped, rather a reservoir of power inside each human to be tapped at will. Thus any concept of sacrifice is rejected as a Christian aberration—in Satanism there’s no deity to which one can sacrifice."

My favourite things include the larger majority of the eleven Satanic rules of the Earth;

  1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
  2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
  3. When in another’s lair, show them respect or else do not go there.
  4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat them cruelly and without mercy.
  5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
  6. Do not take that which does not belong to you, unless it is a burden to the other person and they cry out to be relieved.
  7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.
  8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
  9. Do not harm young children.
  10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
  11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Sure, there’s some extreme and somewhat unecessary or ethically questionable stuff in here, but honestly I think it’s a hell of a lot better than most Catholic or Christian values. Read up, my friends; you might like what you see. I think this knowledge is helpful in life. No, I haven’t spontaneously become a Satanist, nor do I entirely agree with the concept of worshipping oneself, but it’s cool to know stuff like this.

The Nine Satanic Sins
1. Stupidity

Stupid people do not get ahead in this world. Satanists strive to keep themselves informed and to not be fooled by others who seek to manipulate and use them.

2. Pretentiousness Taking pride in one’s achievements is encouraged in Satanism. However, one should only take credit for one’s own accomplishments. Making empty claims about yourself is not only obnoxious but also potentially dangerous, leading to sin No. 4, self-deceit.

3. Solipsism Satanists use this term to refer to the presumption many people make that other people think, act and have the same desires as themselves. It’s important to remember that everyone is an individual with his own individual goals and plans. To expect someone to treat you as you treat him is foolish. Instead, Satanists encourages you to treat people as they treat you. You should always deal with the reality of the situation rather than expectations.

4. Self-Deceit Satanists deal with the world as it is. Convincing yourself of untruths because they are more comfortable is no less problematic than letting someone else deceive you.

5. Herd Conformity Satanism exalts the power of the individual. Western culture encourages people to go with the flow, and to believe and do things simply because the wider community is doing such. Satanists attempt to avoid such behavior, following the herd only if it makes logical sense and suits one’s own needs.

6. Lack of Perspective Remain aware of both the big and small pictures, never sacrificing one for the other. Remember your own important place in things, and don’t be overwhelmed with the viewpoints of the herd. On the flipside, we do live in a world larger than ourselves. Always keep an eye on the big picture and how you can fit yourself into it.

7. Forgetful of Past Orthodoxies Society is constantly taking old ideas and repackaging them as new, original ideas. Do not be fooled by such offerings.

8. Counterproductive Pride If it works, use it. You should never be embarrassed of your own accomplishments. However, if pride is getting in the way of getting things done with other people, you should set it aside until such time as it becomes constructive again.

9. Lack of Aesthetics Beauty and balance are two things Satanists strive for. This is particularly true in magical practices but can be extended to the rest of one’s life as well. Avoid following that which society dictates is beautiful and learn to identify true beauty, whether or not others recognize it.
