SOBBING.

SO MUCH SOBBING.

IT WON’T END.

For anyone who didn’t see it, let me tell you.

The Doctor’s a time traveler. He brought Vincent Van Gogh (who was severely depressed and lost hope in his ability and himself) to the future, to a museum where they are celebratinghisart.

I don’t know if any of you are artists (drawing, writing, whatever), but being a writer, this scene moved me to tears. You’re your own worst critic, and feel like your stuff is complete shit sometimes…maybe even to the level of despair like Van Gogh. But imagine someone brought you to a world where people love and appreciate your art. Or it means something so special to them. The thought of it is overwhelming.

I’m probably just rambling, lol, but this is one of the most perfect episodes in the series.

you’re not. i was blubbering like a little baby.

This scene!

ALL MY CREYS!

My mom has no idea what this show is and she has no interest in it but I had this on the tv and she watched this scene and started crying her eyes out.

This is probably my favorite moment in DW ever. It’s just so meaningful that the Doctor was able to bring this poor man, who was considered a joke in his time, to the future to see just how appreciated his art would become.

i ALWAYS cry when i watch this scene
its quite possibly the most beautifully sad yet happy scene ever to have been on television. and so perfectly acted

and sorry, i just have to put this in here

“Well. Um, big question, um, but to me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular great painter of all time. The most beloved. His command of colour, the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world. No one had ever done it before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange wild man who roamed the fields of Provence, was not only the world’s greatest artist but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.”

this still makes my feelings feel feelings
