The best thing for being sad,” replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, “is to learn something. That’s the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.

Learn another language with 4 easy apps

…That may also sound like “too disruptive” of an idea. Learning a language is complex, time-consuming, plus schooling and software sounds expensive.

Well thankfully in the past few years a solid group of apps have risen to the challenge of making language learning easy, fun and for the most part, free.

Here is a comprehensive review of what I’ve tried…

Franklin and the Copycat
I was watching this out of curiosity. I realized it was about drawing and they were in a class, this episode pretty much reminds me of my life back in grade school, but the effect kinda goes both ways, vice versa. The other students copied my drawing style, and I copied their "cool" stuff, making replicas out of paper.

But then it hit me. This basically sums up the deviantART community.

At least Rabbit REFERENCED Franklin's cloud drawings and not trace them.

Future Learning
Education as we know it came from war. It teaches suppression of natural instincts, being quiet and being submissive.
Can any teacher today say they're preparing their child for the unknowable future?
The biggest job in today's information saturated world is to give the child an armor against doctrine. The new basic skills are reading comprehension, information search and retrieval, and [critical thought].
Children can teach themselves almost anything given the internet and permission to interact with eachother. There's a blurry line between play and learning, and it should become even blurrier.
