Hermit crabs wear 3D architectural scapes as shelter!

From a project by artist Aki Inomata, she envisioned the identities of the crabs. "Though the body of the hermit crab is the same, according to the shell it is wearing, its appearance changes completely. It’s as if they were asking, “Who are you?” the artist said.

Japanese artist Aki Inomata created this series of hermit shell cityscapes back in 2009, bringing to iconic skylines to the backs of these little crustaceans

RGB Landscapes

Milan-based creative team Carnovsky is a duo consisting of Francesco Rugi and Silvia Quintanilla. Recently, for Milan Design Week 2013, the team created this exhibit entitled Fabulous Landscapes. The installation is a continuation of their ongoing RGB project, in which the artists experiment with layers of colors, both print and light, as they appear to the naked eye. Printing on walls with overlapping red, green, and blue designs, the artists then illuminate the room with either red, green, or blue LED lights to reveal one scene at a time.

Puffy patterns of mammatus clouds

Out of all the cloud types, only one kind derives from the Latin term for “udder”: Mammatus clouds. And when you see them, this meteorological name makes a whole lot of sense. They billow downwards in a pattern of distinctive lumpiness that peg them as fascinating subjects to photograph. Keep tuned in to weather reports for thunderstorms, because these puffy clouds usually indicate intense storms to come and you might find a rare opportunity to capture them.

Arnensee Lake, Switzerland

The waters of Arnensee in Switzerland are so clear they cause boats such as the one in the picture to appear as they are hovering in the air.

The lake is located in Canton of Berne in Switzerland, and can be easily reached with a little planning. Although that first picture has made the lake relatively known, it’s still usually a quiet, tourist-free place.
