Mackenzie Poltergeist - It’s said that when a homeless man snuck into the mausoleum for shelter and disturbed the coffin of Sir George Mackenzie (a man responsible for a large number of deaths during his time as judge and lord advocate), his ghost awoke and the activity in the Black Mausoleum began. Since 1999 visitors have reported temperature changes, and some visitors have been physically attacked (350 documented cases) or simply collapsed for no reason.
McPike Mansion
The McPike Mansion in Alton, Illinois is a mansion that was constructed in 1869. There have numerous reports of paranormal activity occurring in the mansion, including reports of hearing children laughing and sightings of apparitions moving around the halls. These hauntings are somewhat unusual in the sense that they are not linked to a murder or suicide.
THE LANDMARK INN - MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN, USA: Around the time the hotel first opened in 1930 on the shores of Lake Superior, a librarian in town fell in love with a sailor. He was to make 1 last journey before coming home to marry her, but the ship and crew never returned. The librarian is said to still haunt the Lilac Room, which has a view of Lake Superior. She is believed to be watching for her sailor’s return.
