FUZLAB.

Third and final of the epic FUZLAB. The unexpected duo, embodied by Fabrizio Moretti ( The Strokes) and Luz ( Charlie Hebdo ), meets again  in Paris to end its masterful frieze on the theme of the Greek myth Thésée and the Minotaur. In 2012, both artists began this common performance by creating a giant frieze, drawing in real time in front of the public of the French Gallery, Emmanuel Perrotin. The duo will enter a two-month residence in June and July 2014 to achieve their work. The fresco will start its WW tour in Paris in Winter 2014/2015 before flying to Greece.

Visual Communication first project: combining two contrasting objects together. I made a mini series based on the theme ‘Adulthood vs Childhood’. or maybe I should call it “clash of different intoxicating things ” I love this multi-themed creation.

Vancouver-based art student Fiona Tang creates large-scale trompe l’oeildrawings of animals that appear to burst forth from the paper upon which they were so expressively rendered. She uses a variety of materials to create these awesome optical illusions, including charcoal, acrylic paint, conté and chalk pastels.

We love the photos in which Tang poses with her pieces, emphasizing the effectiveness of her illusions. A large stag, with birds perched on his antlers, looks so solid that we’re still waiting to see steamy breath leave his nostrils. An enormous salt water crocodile raises its head from the rippling grey water in order to receive a gentle pat on the snout. A ferocious shark and powerful humpback whale emerge from opposite walls for an underwater face-off.

Follow Fiona Tang here on Tumblr to check out more of her eye-popping artwork.

Catastrophic Disasters Recreated as Layered Sculptures

sraeli artist Eyal Gever explores catastrophic events through his art. In his pieces known simply as Nuclear Bomb and Large Scale Smoke, he fabricates the fiery mushroom cloud that forms from an atomic explosion and the suffocating carbon and debris that billows from a volcanic eruption, respectively. Gever explains his fascination with disaster by saying, “My work captures and freezes catastrophic situations as cathartic experiences.”

UK artist, Jamie McCartney, created plaster casts of 400 individual vulvae of women from ages 18-76 years old to produce The Great Wall of Vagina.

Just cuz we all need to learn more about the great wall of vagina and that the plural of vulva is vulvae…weird…

Computer Board Table built by David Maloney using boards and drives from old Intergraph 6000 series machines made in the late 80s early 90s.

"For years I've been throwing old computer boards into a box in the garage to someday recycle them into some sort of project. It finally popped in my head to create a table with them using some of the black walnut from a tree we cut down a few years ago and had milled in the yard with a portable mill. It's basically two tables. One internal table to screw the boards to and another set of wood frames with glass that slide on top of the board table. It's basically a wood diorama. It will be very easy to swap out the computer boards with something else once we get tired of the look of the boards."
