This is seriously amazing tbh.

A group of university students in the U.S. have developed a nailpolish unlike anything a woman would have come across in the past. This unique invention changescolour when it comes in contact with date-rape drugs. This drug isalso called the predator drug and aids in the execution of drug facilitated sexual assault.

This nail polish is being developed by fourundergraduatestudents in the Materials Science & Engineering department at North Carolina State University. They have named the nail paint as Undercover Colours. The product is not completely developed and is still under the process.

It works in a very unique manner. When the nailpaint comes in contact with predator drugs such as Rohypnol, Xanax, and GHB, it will change colour. In order for the nailpolish to be exposed to the drug, the woman needs to secretly stir her drink with her finger. If the nail colour changes, then it would be certain that her drink has been spiked. This is extremely beneficial as the drugs are colourless and odourless and cannot be detected in any other way by a normal person.

Students Develop Nail Polish That Can Detect Date Rape Drugs

"Four undergraduate students at North Carolina State University are attempting to produce a nail polish that will reveal the presence of “date rape drugs” such as Rohypnol and GHB by changing color in their presence.

“With our nail polish, any woman will be empowered to discreetly ensure her safety by simply stirring her drink with her finger,” the Undercover Colors Facebook page says.

“Through this nail polish and similar technologies, we hope to make potential perpetrators afraid to spike a woman’s drink because there’s now a risk that they can get caught,” the page continues. “In effect, we want to shift the fear from the victims to the perpetrators. We are Undercover Colors and we are the first fashion company empowering women to prevent sexual assault.””
