The reason why sharks attack surfers.

Please follow Oceans & Seas: http://oceans.press

Duh. Ever notice shark attacks are only one bite because sharks have a taste oh human and are like “blegh this isn’t what I ordered >.<
Sharks also have really really really bad vision…so…everyone- be nice to sharks

I remember I did a report on hammerhead sharks and theyre truly just dopey idiots that’ll just bite you and be like “wow fuck that” and just piss off lol
Unless theyre reeeaallyyyy hungry. Sharks are so cool ;-;

Sharks are so vital to our oceans, the ecosystem, and the health of the world. Please be kind to sharks.

Sharks are important okay and also super cute and they just wanna swim around doing shark stuff

They do not want to eat humans they are not scary evil monsters, they are cute as heck sea animals which the ocean needs

Stop hurting/killing sharks :(

Sharks also, sadly, have only one appendage that is any good at manipulating objects: their mouth. Thus, if they are curious about something, they do the same thing every thirteen-months-old child does, and investigate it by nomming it.

In other words, I believe the solution to prevent most shark attacks is to give sharks arms.

A black ribbon is a symbol of remembrance and mourning. Used also as a political statement. And in this case, a Black ribbon to also represent racial hate crime.

Repost this Ribbon, Reshare this Ribbon.  Let the symbol of our hearts show to Michael Brown in this case, and also for all those affected by the same.

Never forget.

In aid of Asexual Awareness Week, I’ve decided to make a post about autochorissexuality and just what it is.

The term ‘autochoris’ was coined by Anthony Bogaert, and essentially translates to ‘identity-less sexuality’. It is a sub-section of asexuality, which he describes as:

A disconnection between oneself and the object of arousal; may involve sexual fantasies or arousal in response to erotica or pornography, but lacking any desire to be a participant in the activities therein.

Essentially, we like the idea of sex, and/or enjoy reading/writing/watching sexual content, but don’t actually experience attraction or want to have sex with anybody.

You might be autochorissexual if:

  • You get aroused by sexual content but don’t actually want to engage in any sexual activities yourself.
  • You masturbate, but are neutral or repulsed by the idea of having sex with another person.
  • When you fantasize about sex, you envision people other than yourself, and/or you view it in third person, as though you’re watching it on TV, rather than imagining it in first person, through your own eyes.
  • You predominantly or entirely fantasize about fictional characters or celebrities, rather than people you actually know.
  • You identify as asexual and feel no sexual attraction to people, but enjoy masturbating, are aroused by sexually explicit content, and/or have sexual fantasies.

This isn’t an exhaustive checklist, and ultimately nobody can give you a label but yourself. But hopefully this post has brought you a little closer to understanding autochorissexuality, whether you are asexual, grey/demi, questioning, confused, or just wanting to raise awareness.

Here are some further resources if you want to learn more:

An essay on autochorissexualism vs lithsexualitythe flag (as depicted above, but without the text caption), Anthony Bogaert’s short paper on Autochorissexualism, and my inbox is always open if you have any questions.

If you’ve found this post informative, please signal boost to help raise awareness and understanding about all the different aspects and subsections of asexuality!

The symptoms of autochorissexuality mentioned above sounds just like me (except for the last one because I don't identify as asexual because maybe I'm not sure yet). It's true that I tend to view myself as a watcher/observer and uninvolved whenever I picture sex scenes. I can't imagine myself having sex, but I do get aroused whenever I see some sex scenes.

I think I just found my description.

A Buff Man From Australia Shows Off His Adequately Sized … Turtle … For A Really Important Cause

The Great Barrier Reef is worth nearly $6 billion to Australia’s tourism industry. But more importantly, it’s priceless when it comes to the health of our oceans. And yet, threats from coal ports, dredging, climate change, and more could end up destroying this natural wonder. So kudos to the good folks at GetUp! for doing something creative about it.

P.S. This dude has some serious abs for a comedian. Just sayin’.

In case you didn’t know, October is learning disability awareness month! Also, you probably didn’t know I have one, since the general reaction I tend to get is “you don’t /look/ like you have a learning disability”.

That’s partially why I made this, because people seem to think you’re branded with it on your forhead when in real life it’s not like that at all—In fact, that mentality is probably what hurt my academic career for so long, because people with Dyscalculia often excel in other areas! I remember a lot if teachers/classmates/my own parents telling me to ‘just try harder’, because to them it seemed like I wasn’t applying myself. Dyscalculia is also not a ‘popular’ learning disability that’s talked about, it’s a pretty common occurance for me to have to give an explanation to others who think I’m ‘lazy’, so I figured this is a little educational as well as personal.

Those with Dyscalculia have trouble with*:

•Counting, estimating, and measuring. •Learning math facts (like addition, subtraction, multiplication, ect). •Problem-solving skills. •Concepts of time and navigation (scheduling, telling the diffrence between directions). *Among other things, but those are the most common.

●Here are some Dyscalculia resources:
•Learning Disability Association of America- [ldaamerica.org/types-of-learning-disabilities/dyscalculia]
•National Center for Learning Disabilities- [ncld.org/types-learning-disabilities/dyscalculia/what-is-dyscalculia]

●Think you have Dyscalculia? Test yourself (Don’t self-diagnose, bring your results to your parent/school counselor/therapist and discuss further testing)

Deserves attention.

This needs more attention.

I support these men, not just women in similar situations ♥

Man or woman, you can be abused.

There is not reason for this. Ever.

The sad thing is, men are much less likely to report abuse than women for fear of seeming weak.

This makes me SO angry. My dad’s lunatic wife actually went at him with a knife and tried to kill him. The police did NOTHING because she was a woman. Had the roles been reversed, had my dad snapped and gone after her, he’d be in jail, no questions asked. The double standard is outrageous.
