Four months in the new workplace and I've grown close to Kristina & Ribka cuz they're sitting just beside me. So did some others but I talked to these two the most.

I'm not clingy or anything, It's just one of those moments when you find people who have like more than 4 similarities with you and you felt like y'all would make good friends. In this case she and I have similar fashion sense, though our demeanors are opposites.

Small comic about a cute couple in my office whom I rarely talk to. The guy is the bossman's nephew btw. I wonder if they legit like blue, or they just have a lot of blue clothes.

*inserts Red vs Blue / Dick Figures / Team Fortress II / Overwatch jokes somewhere*

In the early years of space flight, both Russians and Americans used pencils in space. Unfortunately, pencil lead is made of graphite, a highly conductive material. Snapped graphite leads and particles in zero gravity are hugely problematic, as they will get sucked into the air ventilation or electronic equipment, easily causing shorts or fires in the pure oxygen environment of a capsule.

After the fire in Apollo 1 which killed all the astronauts on board, NASA required a writing instrument that wasn’t a fire hazard. Fisher spent over a million dollars (of his own money) creating a pressurized ball point pen, which NASA bought at $2.95 each. The Russian space program also switched over from pencils shortly after.

40 years later snide morons on the internet still snigger about it, because snide morons on the internet never know what they are talking about.

^^^ THIS. THANK YOU.

this was discussed in 3 Idiots. Virus revealed to Rancho why bringing a pencil to space can be dangerous & why the space pen is needed.

Part of my fanart of Gorillaz! It will only be available as prints and posters at the FCBD in my area, though I'm considering selling it online too. Please tell me what you think ;)

On Copying: The Internet vs Companies
Back when I started deviantART i learnt you’re not supposed to copy (let alone trace) artworks, which is true, and an important lesson. And god forbid you forget to credit the original artists without getting bashed online.
It was until I got employed that I realized people in the workplace don’t even care whether their employees copied or not, as long as what they make sells. These people care less about intended similarities between works than people on the internet.

Moral of the story: plagiarism is a big no-no, but copying? most companies won’t care as much as an average artist on the internet will. Elaborate internet hate is real.

As an animator and graphic designer, I find my envy towards amazing musicians way higher compared to my envy towards better animators and artists (which is sometimes nonexistent).
