Cyndaquil is a “Fire Mouse Pokemon”. Rats and Mice are in the same genetic subfamily.

Chimchar is a “Chimp Pokemon.” Chimps and Monkeys are both simians, and Chimchar’s evolutionary line physically resembles Monkeys rather than Apes.
